Introducing: Beyond Impact

As of February 1, Tides Advocacy is now operating under a new name: Beyond Impact.

This is not simply a rebrand. It is the result of several years of intentional evolution and recent strategic planning that clarified the role we are called to play in this political moment alongside fearless leaders and organizations across the country.

Over the past few years, we have listened closely to our partners and reflected on what they are navigating. Defending hard won progress. Building long term civic and political power. Preparing for redistricting, census work, and future elections. Creating durable organizations rooted in community.

It became clear that the way we describe ourselves should better match the role we are playing as a fiscal sponsor, funder, and convenor supporting this work.

Beyond Impact reflects the organization we have long been.

A trusted partner to fearless leaders and organizations working to build power and advance progressive policies that center equity and justice in our democracy and daily lives.

Why the Name Change

While we were founded within the Tides network and remain grateful for that history, our transition to an independent operational identity has been an intentional process underway since 2019. Through that process, we built our own systems, governance, staffing, and strategic direction.

Beyond Impact signals the completion of that evolution. It honors where we came from while making clear that our path forward is defined by the needs of fearless leaders and organizations and the role we must play in this moment.

What We Do

Beyond Impact is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization that serves three integrated roles in the movement ecosystem.

Fiscal Sponsor

We provide the legal, financial, and operational home that allows fearless leaders and organizations to focus on organizing, building power, and growing instead of building back office systems from scratch.

Funder

We move resources to fearless leaders and organizations building power in communities that have been historically underfunded and overlooked.

Convenor

We bring fearless leaders, organizations, and funders together to align strategy, share learning, and strengthen collective work.

What Is Not Changing

Our values, leadership, staffing, and day to day work remain the same.

Our commitment to supporting fearless leaders and organizations to move quickly, compliantly, and effectively in their advocacy work remains central to who we are.

Current partners will continue working with the same teams and receiving the same level of support. Funders and prospective partners can expect the same clarity, care, and operational strength that has defined our work for decades.

Impact is often used to describe short term results. Beyond Impact speaks to what movements are actually building. Lasting power. Durable infrastructure. Community rooted leadership. Long term transformation.

Beyond Impact names the role we play in helping build the world our partners are fighting for.

We are proud of our history. We are clear about our future. And we are excited to step into this next chapter with a name that better reflects the work we do every day.
