Celebrating Renita Francois and Her Next Chapter in Public Service
At Beyond Impact, we often talk about building pathways for leaders who are committed to driving meaningful, lasting change. Today, we have the opportunity to celebrate one of those leaders.
Our Chief Program Officer, Renita Francois, has been appointed Deputy Mayor for Community Safety in the administration of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Renita joined Beyond Impact as our inaugural Chief Strategy Officer and went on to serve as Chief Program Officer, helping to shape the direction and impact of our work during a critical period of growth. She brought a clear vision for how organizations like ours can better support partners, advance complex initiatives, and deliver results that matter.
During her time with Beyond Impact, Renita led several defining efforts. She oversaw the implementation of our largest convening to date in Baltimore, bringing together partners and leaders from across the country. She strengthened our support for grassroots and frontline organizers through her leadership of the Healthy Democracy Action Fund. She also launched our partner advisory council, helping to ensure that the voices of our fiscally sponsored partners remain central to our work.
She has been a steady, thoughtful leader. The kind of leader who brings clarity to complexity, who centers people in every decision, and who consistently pushes work forward with both purpose and care.
Beyond her formal role, Renita has been a trusted colleague and partner. She has contributed not only to our growth as an organization, but to the culture that defines how we work together.
While we will miss her presence on our team, we are incredibly proud to see her step into this new role in public service. This appointment is a reflection of her leadership, her experience, and her commitment to the communities she serves.
We are grateful for all that she has given to Beyond Impact and excited to see the impact she will continue to make in this next chapter.
